Siddharth Bharath is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior at the University of Minnesota. He is curious about the world we live in, how our natural and social systems and histories intertwine, intersect and grow together. His dissertation research is in the field of plant community ecology, focusing on how variation in rainfall and soil nutrient availability affect the stability of grassland plant communities. He did his schooling, undergraduate and Master’s degree in India. As an activist and community organizer, he is actively exploring the intersections of storytelling, science education and social justice, inspired by feminist and indigenous pedagogies. He is deeply interested in how ethical storytelling can be used to dialogue across the boundaries of knowledges and identities that limit people’s (especially scientists’) engagement with social justice and difference.
